a walk in the park
Just over the Michigan Avenue Bridge lies Millennium Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world. Millennium Park is host to hundreds of cultural programs ranging from concerts, art exhibits, exhibitions and tours. It is also home to the world famous Cloud Gate, otherwise known as “the Bean”. The brainchild of British artist, Anish Kapoor, the Bean was constructed with a series of highly polished stainless steel plates to reflect the dramatic city skyline and the clouds above. Naturally, it has become one of the cities most highly desired “instagram” locations by visitors. Millennium Park is also host to the Pritzker Pavilion which hosts free live concerts during the summer, and even some stage productions. The seasonal blooms at Lurie Garden transport you to a tranquil oasis of beauty within the very heartbeat of this vibrant city. Spring and summer brings such events as Chicago Gourmet, (a true foodies ultimate calling), Taste of Chicago, Lolla Palooza, plus activities like free outdoor movies in the park, yoga and dance classes, just to name a few.
